With All-Star weekend almost upon us and all the great activities that are about to entertain all the great NBA fans, I ask one question, WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THIS YEARS THREE POINT CONTEST????  I feel the three point contest is wide open this year and anyone could win. This makes for great discussion Lets take a look at who is participating in the contest.

Ray Allen – Allen may be the best shooter in the competition. Ray Allen has proven to be a knock down three point shooter ever since his rookie year in the NBA. He is a former three point contest winner and looks to regain a championship he once had

Kevin Durant – one of the biggest super stars in the NBA and is arguably one of the best. Durant has a great shooting touch and has shown he is a clutch three point shooter. Will his pure talent be enough to allow him to win the three point contest?

Daniel Gibson – during the Cavs days of relevancy (while they had Lebron James), Gibson proved he could knock down the open three point shot. He is number 10 for three point percentage this year. A three point contest win by Gibson would be huge for Cleveland and would bring some good news and publicity to a team that is currently struggling.

Dorell Wright – Wright is known to many as a very streaky shooter. He is having his best season from beyond the arc this year. Will he get hot at the right time and bring the three point shoot out title back to the golden state.

Paul Pierce – the Boston Celtic general and defending three point contest champion is back to defend his title. Pierce is one of the most clutch performers in the NBA. He has made a reputation on hitting big threes when his team needs them. Will Pierce be able to join rare company and become a back to back champion in the shoot out competition?

James Jones – Jones has proven to be a very reliable three point shooter for every team that he has played for. He consistently knocks down the open three point shot and shoots a high percentage. Many may consider Jones to be the dark horse of the competition.

Personally I would like to see Kevin Durant win. He is one of the young exciting NBA stars who has tremendous upside to go along with a sweet jump shot but it is very hard to go against Ray Allen. With all the great shooting Ray Allen has showed throughout his career he is my choice to win the three point shoot out competition. With all this being stated who do you think will win? Leave your comments and state why you think that person will win.
